While some of our pieces are made locally in Los Angeles, others like the jeans you purchased, are ethically made in China with partners who share our values of transparency and sustainability. We should have made this clearer, and I apologize for the confusion caused by the tag.
Here are a few details about how these jeans were produced:
- 100% certified organic cotton and low-impact dyes
- Oeko-Tex certified and manufactured in carbon-neutral facilities
- Recycled water used during production
- Plastic-free, with trims, labels, and packaging made from recycled materials
This style was released in 2021, and at that time, we worked with a trusted factory in China. We mentioned this in a blog post on our wesbite which can be found here: https://whimsyandrow.com/blogs/journal/whimsy-does-denim
Because we no longer produce with that factory, it isn’t currently listed on our website. We do try to keep our site as up to date as possible, but I understand how that might have been confusing.
Today, we make our denim in India, with partners who uphold the same high standards of sustainability and ethical production.
Our commitment is always to produce responsibly, whether locally or abroad, and we only work with partners who align with our values.
