Meet L.PAULET: The Masters Behind Our Sustainable Sweaters

When it comes to creating high-quality, eco-friendly knitwear, L.PAULET is in a league of its own. This Fair Trade Peruvian factory has been crafting beautiful, sustainable textiles for nearly two decades, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design.
The Story Behind the Stitching
L.PAULET’s journey started in 1985 with founders Enrique and Beatriz, who had big dreams and a love for artistry. Fun fact: the factory name comes from Enrique’s last name, “Paulet,” and the “L.” is a tribute to his mother, Laura. Originally, they were crafting jewelry inspired by ancient Peruvian cultures, but over time, their passion shifted to textiles—specifically, luxuriously soft alpaca and cotton knitwear.
Sustainability Meets Fair Trade
L.PAULET is on a mission to create high-quality, fair trade fashion. They use natural fibers like alpaca, baby alpaca, and cotton to craft exclusive, premium garments while keeping their environmental impact low. But they don’t stop there—their commitment to ethical fashion extends to the people behind the stitches. By providing fair job opportunities to local communities, they ensure that sustainability isn’t just about materials—it’s about people too.
Why We Love Them
Alpaca wool is the star of the show here, and for good reason! It’s softer than cashmere, warmer than wool, and incredibly durable. Plus, it’s one of the most eco-friendly fibers out there—naturally biodegradable and requiring far less water than traditional wool production. L.PAULET’s dedication to quality means every sweater feels as good as it looks.
A Celebration of Craftsmanship
Their latest collection, PLURAL, is a perfect example of what makes L.PAULET special. Inspired by diversity, it mixes ancestral knitting techniques, intricate stitch patterns, and a fresh, modern color palette. Every sweater is a work of art, balancing tradition and contemporary style.
From Peru to Your Closet
Based in Arequipa, L.PAULET continues to push the boundaries of sustainable fashion while staying true to its roots. Their sweaters aren’t just cozy—they tell a story of culture, craftsmanship, and conscious fashion.
We truly enjoyed working with the L.PAULET team, who beautifully crafted the Chloe Cardigan and Penelope Pullover using two of the most earth-friendly fibers: Tangüis Cotton and Baby Alpaca. Tangüis Cotton is a highly sustainable fiber that requires 50% less water than conventional cotton and is naturally resistant to pests, reducing the need for harmful pesticides. Baby Alpaca, sourced from the softest fleece of adult alpacas, is not only incredibly warm and lightweight but also biodegradable and hypoallergenic, making it a luxurious yet planet-friendly choice.
We’re honored to collaborate with such a dedicated and ethical factory, and we know you’ll love their beautifully made, sustainable knitwear as much as we do!
