LA Fires — Updates + Resources

LA Fires — Updates + Resources - Whimsy & Row

Los Angeles is more than just where we’re based; it’s our home and the heart of our community. We are deeply devastated by the ongoing fires and the toll they’ve taken on our city, our neighbors, and the environment we cherish.

Once it’s safe to do so, our team will be volunteering to help restore the Eaton Canyon and Palisades areas, doing our part to rebuild, replant, and heal the land. And of course, we’ll be directly contributing clothing to those affected by the fires.

This is just the beginning, and we want to take a moment to emphasize that we remain deeply committed to our sustainable fashion initiatives. We’re focused on being thoughtful and strategic in everything we do, ensuring that our efforts don’t contribute to further waste down the line. Our goal is to make a lasting, positive impact—both now and in the future.

We’re deeply moved by the incredible work of Seconds Market’s Donation Match Program, which connects donors directly with those in need based on size, gender, and age. Also, Coop, Altadena Girls, and Altadena Kindred have been tirelessly organizing and distributing clothing to those affected by the fires. The outpouring of love and donations has been truly heartwarming, but many donation sites are now unable to accept more physical items. Be sure to check their Instagram pages for real-time updates—some are posting specific items they still need, and things are changing quickly.

It’s inspiring to see how swiftly Angelenos have come together, though we expect there will be a lot of movement and sorting of textiles in the weeks ahead.

Thinking of our friends at Suay Shop: In addition to their free store, they are now accepting textiles for fire relief. As experts in textile recirculation since 2017, they are a trusted partner in handling donations. If you’re working with a donation site that’s been overwhelmed with clothing, Suay Shop is a great place for those textiles to go. You can find details on what they accept and what to avoid here.

If you’d like to help a family rebuild, consider contributing directly through GoFundMe campaigns. These families have not yet reached their fundraising goals.

Our friends at Sorella Collective have a direct line to firefighters, coordinating with chefs and restaurants to support them. You can contribute to their Feed a Firefighter efforts here.

As we continue to navigate these challenging circumstances, we remain committed to being a thoughtful and proactive part of the solution. Together, we can make a difference—one step at a time.

WE LOVE YOU, LOS ANGELES!

x Whimsy Team
